Heads Up!

We were supposed to tape the next show yesterday, but our guest had an emergency.  We usually run a show ahead for this very reason, but it didn't work out this month.  What does this mean?  No show this week.  However, we will be back next week and plan to talk with trainer Al Kavadlo.

Al has a great book and some great ideas about exercise.  He has been featured on multiple websites, including menshealth.  You can also see him in Paul Wade's Convict Conditioning 2.You can learn more about him here:

http://www.alkavadlo.com/

I posted some stuff about Al a few weeks back that you can also take a look at:

Also, I was reading a blog that had a couple of articles about the importance of sleep to weight loss that I thought everyone would get a kick out of.  Here is one one of them:

http://conditioningresearch.blogspot.com/2012/01/sleep-more-and-it-is-easier-to-lose.html

I think people pay lots of attention to diet and exercise, but forget about the bodies' need for sleep.

We will try to do at least 2-3 shows each month.  We will also try to get a variety od different guests.  If you have ideas or requests, let us know.  We haven't really deceided on a set schedule.  It will raelly depend on what we can manage, and how often you guys want a show.

Thanks for listening!

Marathon Madness

This weekend I was discussing running and marathons with some family members.  I love running, but over the past year I got away from marathoning to focus on shorter distances.  I have learned more and am finally seeing that while running might be a healthy thing up to a point, it doesn't mean that more is always better.

A previous guest of the show, Antonio Valadares (http://www.huntingforhealth.com/2011/12/hunting-for-health-9-antonio-valladares.html), sent me this today and I thought you guys might enjoy it:

Hunting For health #12: Kai Hibbard (Biggest Loser)

Today's guest on Hunting For Health is Kai Hibbard.  Kai was a past contestant on NBC's highly rated show "The Biggest Loser."  Kai let us in on some of the behind the scenes stuff that goes on.  She also discusses how the show might have contributed to her developing an eating disorder.  If you watch the Bigest Loser, and have thought that things might not be as they seem, you are correct.  You might be surprised to know what goes on behind the scenes.
